This Privacy Policy applies to johnpcronin.com. The website is operated by John Cronin in Austin, Texas, United States.

When you use the contact form, the website collects the name, email address, inquiry category, and message you choose to provide. The submission is stored in the website database so John Cronin can review and respond to the inquiry. Contact submissions are not currently sent by an automated email service.

If provided, we also store your optional answer about how you heard about John. We attach a bounded campaign code or referring hostname category from your tab entry to the inquiry to understand which introductions lead to useful conversations. We do not store the full referring URL or search query. Browser restrictions may make this source unknown. The source and your answer are visible only in the private owner inquiry report.

The Ask John interface uses a curated knowledge base within the website. Questions entered there are held temporarily in the open browser session and are not sent to the website server or stored after the page is closed or refreshed.

The website uses a first-party analytics system to understand how visitors interact with the site. We collect page views, anonymous session identifiers, referring hostnames, traffic sources, link destination paths or hostnames, event types, and timestamps.

This information is used strictly to improve the website experience. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not engage in cross-site behavioral profiling. The analytics system uses transient session storage (sessionStorage) rather than tracking cookies to assign anonymous session identifiers. These identifiers exist only for the duration of your browser session.

Session storage also retains the tab’s entry hostname and bounded campaign code so navigation within the site does not replace the original source. Recognized AI service hostnames may be grouped as AI referrals. These observations cannot identify all AI influenced visits and are not proof that a service cited the website.

The private owner dashboard is protected by Clerk. Clerk authentication is used exclusively to secure the backend interface and is not used as a public account system or for public visitor tracking.

Hosting, security, and application infrastructure may process ordinary technical request information needed to deliver and protect the website. This may include a network address, browser supplied details, the requested page, request time, response status, and a request identifier.

This information is used for security, reliability, troubleshooting, and service operation. It is not used by John Cronin to create advertising or marketing profiles. Retention of infrastructure records is governed by the operational practices of the relevant hosting provider.

The website loads font resources from Google Fonts. When those resources are requested, Google may receive ordinary technical information such as a network address and browser details under its own privacy terms.

The website also links to external publications, companies, and platforms. Visiting an external link is governed by that provider's privacy practices. John Cronin does not control those external services.

Contact information is used to review, manage, and respond to inquiries. The website does not sell personal information, use personal information for targeted advertising, or provide visitor information to data brokers.

Contact submissions are retained for as long as reasonably needed to evaluate and respond to an inquiry, maintain appropriate business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Ask John questions are not retained by the website. First-party analytics records are retained for a reasonable period to analyze historical trends. Ordinary technical records may be retained by hosting and security infrastructure according to provider operations and applicable law.

The website is intended for adults. It is not directed to children, and John Cronin does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the current website.
